Blue Earth – The Eco-Friendly Mobile Phone

Worried about the radiation emitted from mobile phones?

Samsung has the answer for it. Samsung touts Eco-Friendly Mobile Phones which will pave the way for its vision toward environmental sustainability. Samsung has announced an innovative solar-powered, full touch-screen mobile phone called the Blue Earth. Designed to symbolize a rounded, shiny peeble, Blue Earth is packed with solar panels on the back of the phone to provide enough power for anytime use.

The phone is made from recycled plastic called PCM, which is extracted from water bottles, and is free from harmful substances, such as Brominated Flame Retardants, Berrylium and Phthalate, as well as the charger. The phone has the eco walk function, wherein the user can count on his steps with a built-in pedometer, calculating how much CO2 emissions have been reduced by walking instead of driving. The packaging, which was made from recycled paper, was designed to be small and light, and comes with a five-star energy-efficient charger with a standy power below 0.03W.

Blue Earth was showcased at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
