A few days later, a PinoyBlogosphere friend sent me an email informing me the risks I am getting into if Microsoft tracks my location. Below is an excerpt of his message…
Please don’t take this the wrong way but this is definitely NOT something you want to announced to the whole world… This is Piracy at its worst. Sorry buddy but you just might find yourself in deep trouble when Microsoft tracks you down where you are. Don’t think just because you are in the Philippines, they won’t be able to track you down– you are leaving “notes” on your blog which can be used against you.
PIRACY IS A SERIOUS CRIMINAL OFFENSE IN THE UNITED STATES and EVERYWHERE. Microsoft is keen on doing measures to stop people from doing this. We’re not here to judge- we’re all adults here but just a friendly unsolicited advice. We are scared for you- how you can brazenly write an article like that online is unbelievable. .. You might want to be subtle about it.
The message came from Jason Sanidad of ratemyphilippines.com. I replied the message informing them that I don’t have the intention on promoting piracy. I am just sharing the hack. But according to the Business Software Alliance, even “sharing” hacks is considered illegal and therefore a crime! I don’t want to get myself in trouble, so my best decision is to remove the hack. Thanks to a friend named, Jason Sanidad.
