WolframAlpha – A Computational Search Engine

Maybe I’m late discovering this new search engine. I thought that it’s the same as Yahoo!, Google, or Bing; but it’s actually not.
Wolfram Alpha is known to be a “Computational Search Engine”.
So what does it mean?
Wolfram Alpha
It basically gives a result based on the question or calculation entered in the search box. Like other search engines, Wolfram|Alpha uses a search algorithm with a growing collection of data to be presented to users. Wolfram|Alpha, developed by Wolfram Research, “is an online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, rather than providing a list of documents or webpages that might contain the answers as a search engine might”. The only thing that makes Wolfram|Alpha a unique search engine is its ability to compute mathematical equations.

You want to try? Just visit WolframAlpha Homepage and try asking your mess in calculations… Good luck!!!

  1. This engine has really a lot of funny things to be discovered!!! I tried asking these:

    Are you God?
    Who am I?
    what is your name?

    The rest, ask him!!!
