Previously, I talked about Cool Previews- a Firefox plugin that allows you to browse the internet faster, preview links, and share media over the internet without leaving your current page.
Though you can only use this on supported browsers, you won’t be able to preview links on other browsers like internet explorer.
If you spend much time on the internet, you are always getting a bunch of links either from tweets on Twitter, wall updates on Facebook, or any other means. Some of these links are actually shortened like http://bit.ly/bcx74a , http://tinyurl.com/ycjqhwz , http://tiny.cc/H2dHb , http://is.gd/9Fyka , and etc. These forms of links are sometimes suspicious because you are not sure where exactly it will redirect you. Besides of being suspicious, you are putting your job at risk if you tend to click the link and found out that you landed on a webpage not allowed at the office. Whatever your reasons though, you might have think of ways in which you can check the real destination page or website of a shortened link.
I am going to share you two ways to browse the web with confidence. If you want to know where shortened URL’s really goes, just use LongURL or unhid. With these online tools, you can easily preview short URL from every shortening service like the one used on the links above. Wanna try? Well, just copy and paste the links above and see where it really goes.
