There you got it. Another spam messages hit Facebook users asking to create Facebook back up. But hey, there’s no such feature announced directly from Facebook, or did I miss it?
The only similar feature that is for real is the one that allows you to download all you information.
Part of the message reads like this:
This is a very important message.
Do you know someone who lives in the USA?
If so then please forward this entire message to him/ her.Thank you very much!
Facebook may encounter database problems sometimes. If a system crash occurs this might cause you to lose ALL your friends. In order to prevent this from happening we ask you to make a back-up. So you can restore your friends afterwards when you need it. Especially if you have over 50 friends you should make a back-up. If you have more then 250 friends (or even more) you should make a backup immediately. Please do it now otherwise it may be too late.
*** Special Attention Needed:
Because of the importancy if this message you should Re-Post it entirely in the News Feed. Put it as a comment underneath other messages. This way others will be informed as well. The best way to inform others is by doing this: Copy (Ctrl+C) this entire message. Find people who have 1000+ friends using chat, go to their walls. Paste this entire message as a comment underneath their existing messages on their walls. Repeat often for best effect. Especially seek people from the U.S., as they are at risk.
Like any other spam messages, it contains several links that point to web pages serving third party ads like Google Adsense. One example is in the form of Facebook app, that has a 20-second count down- but become idle when you do nothing. See the screenshot below.
If you click the round green button with the mail logo on it, a new window will pop-up asking you to publish it on your wall and your friend’s home pages.
If you happen to receive this message, just ignore it or report it as spam. Don’t be tricked!
