Yes, it’s true. If you think Geohot left the Chronic Dev Team and permanently abandoned the iPhone jailbreaking community, I bet you’re wrong.
He is back with a new bootrom exploit called Limera1n. Geohot posted a photo of four iDevices displaying the Limera1n logo as proof of it existence.

This news was confirmed to be true by @P0sixninja saying:
yes, the news about geohot is true, the day after we release ETA he decides he wants a piece of the #pie
@P0sixninja added that Limera1n is different from the SHAtter exploit on GreenPoison which is set to be released on October 10th. He also noted that Geohot wanted that his exploit will be used in GreenPoison, but it would be hard for the Dev Team to hit the official ETA as previously announced if they do so.
We are not changing our release date. If we can implement @geohots before 10/10 we will use that, otherwise we’re using ours.#roadblocks
Geohot’s Limerain is capable of jailbreaking all versions of iDevices and is tethered, according to Dev Team member @comex. Like the GreenPoison, it also uses the same userland exploit to untether on iOS 4.1 only- @comex added.
There’s no word yet about the release of the Limera1n, however some members of the Dev Team are commenting about Geohot’s comeback.
As dramatic as geohot’s last-minute all-device JB is, still a shame that two bootrom holes will be burned at once.

Can’t really understand why one would burn an exploit just for pride&release date’s sake
- @izsh1911 added.
It appears that there’s a interesting drama happening here, so just stay tuned for more updates. [via @P0sixninja]
