Guys, I need to tell you this. If you have been waiting for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime to hit local shelves, don’t rush of getting one just yet. Well, at least for the first model known to be plagued with wireless connectivity issues. What I’m talking about specifically is the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, model TF201. Apparently because of its metallic back-plate, the said ASUS tablet has issues on Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity – perhaps an unwanted signal noise and interference similar to the case of the iPhone 4. Though ASUS continue selling the TF201, I’d really convince you hold back for now. Instead, wait for the newer version of this slate, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime model TF700T.

The newer ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime model TF700T has been revamped so the backside won’t cause any problem anymore with the overall performance of its Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. This new model also got an improved front-facing camera (now 2MP instead of 1.3MP) and the 10-inch screen is just stunning as it is – now with a higher resolution 1920 x 1200 Super IPS+ display. Aside from the display, front-facing camera, and the revamped backside – the rest of the Transformer Prime signature remain the same like the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset, 8MP rear-camera, 32GB/64GB internal storage, and of course the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. And since this new model can still use the same Transformer Prime Keyboard Dock with Trackpad for TF201, looking for another dock won’t be a big deal.

The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T will retail in the US starting at $599 for the 32GB model while the 64GB model at $699. No word yet regarding the official launch date here in the Philippines, but surely I’ll let you know, soon…
