The New NBI eClearance Application System: A Solution or Just a Hype?

The Department of Justice outed a press release the other day about the NBI Clearance Online Registration System being available starting yesterday, January 24, which we wrote about here. With the new eClearance Application System, DOJ and NBI hopes to solve the problems (and complaints as well) plaguing the NBI Clearance application because of long and unorganized waiting queues leaving a lot of people dismayed and annoyed of the system.

NBI eClearance registration system

With the old system, NBI Clearance applicants have to head to NBI offices nationwide or to the nearest NBI Clearance application points such as select Robinson’s Malls and the like. This is where applicants would complete all the steps involved — registration, payment of fees, biometrics and release of the clearance.  But with the new system, applicants would just need to fire up their web browsers and fill the application form online through the NBI application page, print the QR code, and head to an NBI office or application points for biometrics and to claim their clearance.

Preparing an Exit Strategy for Your eCommerce Store

When you’re running an eCommerce store, you need to make sure that you prepare for all of the eventualities. One of these needs to be is an exit strategy. Without an exit strategy, your eCommerce business could crash and burn. The Family Business Institute found that 70 percent of all family businesses fail within the first generation due to a lack of exit plans and failure to prepare efficiently. Here are some of the things you will want to consider for your eCommerce store.

Exit Strategy

Files, Passwords, and Account Access

The first part of your exit strategy needs to be to gather all of the relevant information to running your eCommerce business. You may have a lot of information in your head or scribbled down on random sheets of paper. You need to make sure that you can find it when it’s needed, and, more importantly, your children, spouse, or partners need to be able to find that information as well. Since this information is confidential, you should keep it secure in a safe or in an encrypted file.

Introducing the Newly-Revamped Cebu Tech Blogger Blog!

Last month, I announced that we’ve been cooking up some awesome stuff on CTB specifically the site’s design and layout, a dedicated page for local tech jobs, and one thing I missed to mention – the “Apps Highlights” section which features Top 10 apps across all available categories and will be published in a daily basis (weekdays only) beginning this Monday. The “Apps Highlights” however will focus on iOS apps for now, but that doesn’t mean closing the door for other apps in other platforms. Apps for Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry OS, or even Symbian OS will still be featured from time to time, but not as frequent as with iOS apps. The reason for this is the availability of tools that will aid me in web scraping and ranking apps directly from each platform’s app store.

The Fresh and Cool New Design of CTB Blog

The theme in designing the new CTB blog focuses on simplicity and I want it to be as clean as possible, yet still has the feel of a professional technology blog (yey!). I left it to our friends at Clicking Labs to apply the makeover and of course, do some coding magic. And the result? Well, just let the pages speak for themselves so I’d suggest you view it here, here, here, here, and here.
