The wait is over for Globe prepaid subscribers as the telco finally releases LTE capable SIM cards readily available at select Globe Stores (for now), giving prepaid subscribers LTE surfing speeds.
Globe’s Prepaid LTE SIM comes in two sizes: Combi, a regular mini SIM card for older phones just like the LTE variant of the SG Note (i717) and comes with a cut out micro SIM card for phones like the iPhone 4S; a Nano SIM card for phones with smaller SIM card slots like the newly released iPhone 6 and other phones like the Galaxy Note 4.
And as a bonus, Globe is throwing away a free, limited access to GoSurf and Spotify for both newly activated Combi and Nano Prepaid LTE SIM cards by texting FREEGS30 and FREEGS50 and sending it to 8888, respectively.
The Combi Prepaid LTE SIM card retails for just Php 40, while the Nano LTE SIM card gets a price tag of Php 75, as advised by the post made by Globe Telecom’s official Facebook page, which you can view here. Customers have claimed though the Nano LTE SIM actually retails at Php 100.
Current prepaid subscribers can also easily go to a Globe store near you, to have your current non-LTE prepaid SIM card replaced with an LTE capable prepaid SIM card for the same fee.
Finally, do note that for you to enjoy LTE speeds by Globe, your phone must be LTE capable, and that you’re in an LTE-covered area. To know if you’re area is Globe LTE covered, please check here.
