Instagram, one of the most popular photo editing and photo sharing apps for iOS devices has now made its way to the Google Play Store and is now available for download to Android handsets, at least those that carry the Froyo version of the OS.

Instagram for Android is said to be better than its iPhone counterpart in some ways, and though smartphone users got a chance to play it on their phone, those who are rocking Android slates will remain unsupported at the moment.

For Android users who haven’t heard of this app just yet, Instagram allows you to edit photos by applying custom designed filters and let you share the photos instantly through your social networking profiles including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Foursquare, with support for Flickr already under way.

Instagram is reportedly have more than 27 million registered users from the iOS version alone, so we could expect this number would ramp up following its release to the Google Play Store. You can download Instagram for Android via this link.
