It is a total nightmare when your iPhone malfunctions out of nowhere, more so if you accidentally drop it and the screen gets broken. Although you can simply head to the nearest Apple Store to have your precious smartphone repaired, unfortunately, this isn’t the case for the Philippines. But not until today, as Power Mac Center, the only premium Apple Authorized service provider in the country, launches the Same Unit Repair (SUR) program in the Philippines for supported iPhone models.
Unlike before, whenever there’s hardware issue with an iPhone here in the Philippines, repair turnaround would take weeks to even months, as some repairs would require unit replacements to be shipped from Apple in Singapore. But with the official roll out of Power Mac Center’s Same Unit Repair program, it will take about just 72 hours or 3 days for your iPhone to get fixed and ready for claiming.
In a press release by Power Mac Center, the authorized Apple Reseller and Service Provider emphasized that “all iPhone units will be subject to Unauthorized Modification Check to be conducted by Power Mac Center’s Mobile Device Engineers, who have undergone extensive training sessions that equip them with the expertise to disassemble an iPhone using Apple-required and provided tools.” The press release also added that “These Mobile Device Engineers are also mandated to pass the iOS Qualification Exam and adhere to the strictest standards set by Apple.”
Power Mac Center’s Marketing Director Joey Alvarez in the press release said that “We at Power Mac Center are glad to be able to bring to Filipinos the convenience of having iPhone repair service made locally available. Through the iPhone SUR, customers are assured that the replacement parts are genuine Apple parts. Both the parts and the service are of the highest quality to give iPhone users the best value for their money.”
The Same Unit Repair program by Power Mac Center supports the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C and 5S, purchased in the Philippines from authorized Apple Resellers like local telcos. The service is free for units that are still covered by the standard one-year warranty. Units outside the warranty period will be charged for diagnostic fees, price of parts, labor fees and the like, but will have a 3 month warranty by Power Mac Center for the same issue.
Service repair coverage vary per model, including the main camera, vibe motor, volume button shim, speaker module, SIM ejector arm, home button flex assembly, receiver module, speaker, rear camera, battery, display, and back cover.
With this, Power Mac Center will surely make Filipino iPhone owners confident to bring in their units for repair in case they need it, without having to worry about parts being stolen or fake repairs performed by some unauthorized Apple repair centers across the country.
