Sony PSP2 Confirmed, Will Carry Mortal Kombat Game

There have been rumors about this Sony PSP2 on the past few months, but those are just speculations.

Concept of PSP2

Nothing is concrete enough to confirm that developers are working on the new PSP version, not until the Executive Producer, Shaun Himmerick, of the upcoming Mortal Kombat slipped his tongue when asked during the interview while at PAX 2010- whether the PSP will feature the much anticipated game. Well, it looks like PSP will not carry Mortal Kombat…

“We’re not launching day one on all consoles like that. We are looking at them; we have a PSP2 in the house and we’re looking at the engine, like what can it support. Always a big thing for us is the performance. We’re running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over. We’re definitely looking at them. PSP2 looks like it’s a pretty powerful machine. We don’t have a 3DS system in house yet, but we’re looking to get one, and we’ll certainly look at what its power is.”

Mortal Kombat rebirth first appeared in YouTube last June.

It seems PSP2 development is on the way, in which a prototype unit is said to be residing at Netherrealm Studios. Though, it’s still early to tell – expect to here more about this new gadget. Stay tuned! [Via PlayStationLifeStyle]
