More than 10 days ago, we wrote about Coca-Cola officially bringing Spotify to country and how to get an exclusive, limited access to it. But, the global commercial music streaming service provider held their official launch yesterday at the hip and trendy 71 Gramercy in Makati City, together with the announcement of Spotify’s exclusive partnership with Globe Telecom.
Spotify originally launched back in 2008 in Sweden, before reaching the US shores in 2011. Now that the popular music streaming service is finally available in the country, Filipino Spotify users have now access to over 30 million tracks, including an extensive OPM music library.
Signing up for your own Spotify account is absolutely free, which you can do so by clicking here. A premium membership on the other hand will set back users a mere Php 129/monthly. What it does is it removes all the ads, while providing subscribers an offline, high quality music streaming on their devices. Additionally, come April 13, Globe Telecom is rolling out their own special Spotify data surfing plans for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers, called GoSurf.
For prepaid users, a GoSurf 10 subscription gives users 10MB of data plus 24 hours of non-Premuim Spotify access. As for Globe postpaid users, GoSurf 299 comes with 700MB worth of data plus 30 days of membership to Spotify Premium, while GoSurf 999 on the other hand has an increased 5 GB of data allowance on top of the same 30 day access to Spotify Premium.
Moreover, Globe postpaid subscribers need not to worry about the 1 GB/day or 3 GB/month cap for mobile data, as Spotify streaming under a GoSurf subscription will not affect their data cap.
Finally, users can now download the Spotify app on your mobile or tablet devices, by simply heading to the Google Play Store or the Apple AppStore and searching for Spotify. Or, if you still don’t have the Spotify app on your computer, you can download it just by simply click here.
Spotify currently has over 24 million subscribers, 6 million of which are subscribed to their premium service.
