Confirmed: ApplenBerry Also Working on Unlock for iPhone 4S Baseband 1.0.13

When ApplenBerry announced 2 weeks ago that it has been working on a new baseband unlock solution for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, the company confirmed that modem firmware version 4.11.08 is only supported. No official word released if they are also working on iPhone 4S basebands 1.0.14 and 1.0.13, not until today when we learned about it straight from its Facebook page.

While reminding jailbreakers/unlockers to save SHSH blobs of their handsets, ApplenBerry revealed that it has also been working on iPhone 4S baseband that comes with iOS 5.0.1, specifically 1.0.13.

ApplenBerry Confirmed Working on a New Gevey SIM to Unlock Baseband 4.11.08

iPhone users who are stuck on modem firmware (aka baseband) 4.11.08 get to breathe a sigh of relief, at least, for yet another promise from the maker of Gevey SIM as it has confirmed this time that they are working on a new SIM interposer capable of unlocking the said baseband.

This Gevey Ultra SIM can only Unlock Basebands 1.59.00, 2.10.04, 3.10.01, and 4.10.01

The new Gevey SIM will work on iPhone 4 with support for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1, and the same unlock solution for iPhone 4S baseband 4.11.08 on iOS 5.0 is also in the works.

“For everyone that asked about modem firmware 4.11.08. YES we are working on it. We are also working on iPhone 4S unlock.” ApplenBerry said on its Facebook page.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Using GreenPois0n Absinthe for Windows

For those who haven’t jailbroken their iPhone 4S or iPad 2 on the latest firmware yet, here’s a detailed guide on how to do it. This tutorial is for Windows users using the latest GreenPois0n Absinthe tool. If you’re using Mac, head over here.

GreenPois0n Absinthe can jailbreak iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0 / 5.0.1 and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0 (also called A5 devices because of its chipset) untethered, meaning you don’t need to hook your device into your computer every time it reboots. Using Absinthe is very easy; in fact, I can say that it’s easier to use than Redsn0w – although it seems the jailbreak process on the device itself takes a little longer.

Fix “ABSINTHE is now setting things up, please stand-by…” Error on iPhone 4S and iPad 2

When jailbreaking iPhone 4S and iPad 2 in Windows using the GreenPois0n Absinthe tool, you might encounter an error in which your device is stuck on a page that says “ABSINTHE is now setting things up, please stand-by…”. In some cases, this error may occur after you launched the Absinthe jailbreak right in your device at the latter part of the jailbreaking process.

To fix this, just follow the steps below.

GreenPois0n Absinthe for Windows and Linux Released! [Updated]

It didn’t take any longer for the prominent “iOS Hacking Dream Team” to release the Windows version of the new GreenPois0n jailbreak tool dubbed as Absinthe. Just a day after Absinthe for Mac was released; GreenPois0n Absinthe (v0.2) for Windows is now available for public download.

Absinthe is capable of jailbreaking iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1, as well as iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1 – both in an untethered state. The steps in jailbreaking iPhone 4S and iPad 2 using GreenPois0n Absinthe for Windows is just the same with its Mac counterpart.

Absinthe A5 Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2, Out Now!

The combined efforts of the iPhone Dev Team, the Chronic Dev Team, and other diverse yet prominent iOS hackers to form this year’s so-called iOS hacking “Dream Team” have finally released the first untethered jailbreak for A5-powered devices, specifically the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

The new jailbreak tool is dubbed as GreenPois0n Absinthe and is also based on the Corona exploit used to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered on A4 devices (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad 1). The Corona untether has been extended to A5 devices, more specifically so iPhone 4S handsets running either iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1, and iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 can be jailbroken in an untethered state as well. For iPad 2 users, all versions are supported (Wi-Fi only, GSM, and CDMA) but you should note that there’s no iOS 5.0 support and that you need to upgrade your firmware to iOS 5.0.1 at least.

Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad 1 Released!

Jailbreakers, you got to love hearing this yourself! Those who have been running the latest version of iOS yet still keep their iDevices untouched or those who indulged themselves either with a tethered or semi-tethered jailbreak as a partial satisfaction will now have a reason to rejoice as the much-anticipated…
