Research In Motion Adds More Affordable BlackBerry 7 Phones in the Philippines

Just a couple of weeks ago, Research In Motion (RIM) have officially launched its two newest BlackBerry Curve devices in the Philippines — the BlackBerry Curve 9220 and Curve 9320.

The BlackBerry Curve 9220 was first announced back in April followed by the Curve 9320 in May, but both devices actually made its official land fall in the country late last month. So basically, telling you about these handsets here on CTB is a bit delayed, but I’ve already told you why. Despite of that, let’s have a quick look what these phones really have to offer, inside and out!
The BlackBerry Curve 9220 and Curve 9320 are very identical in the outside, both featuring a 2.44-inch display and a QWERTY keyboard. There’s really nothing to boast from its innards, just that these phones are typically entry-level yet offer the core BlackBerry experience. Both devices run on the latest BlackBerry OS 7.1 that offers new great features such as mobile hotspot, FM Radio, and an improved battery performance; plus those social features you’d always experience on BlackBerry like BBM, Social Feeds, Facebook, Twitter, and other web-enabled functionalities. You can’t expect much on multimedia of these phones, but in any case you need to capture moments along the way – perhaps the phones’ camera would suffice. (more…)

The Latest Update from Cebu Tech Blogger! And it’s Awesome!

Cebu Tech Blogger isn’t dead yet; and it would never be dead! Just that I was hooked up in a situation in which I can hardly publish updates on this blog. Hiring writers isn’t a priority right now ‘coz I want to keep CTB as close to being a personal tech blog.

For some of you who already knew, I quit my full time job at Teradyne Philippines last March for a reason. Working at Teradyne for 5 years was an awesome experience and I truly valued the company’s contribution to what I have learned in the tech industry. Teradyne was my 2nd job actually; my first job was at Lexmark for 1.5 years and that leaves me a combined experience of more than 6 years now in the ICT industry. So, why exactly I’m telling you this? Well, simply because these companies have something to do with the existence of this blog. But interestingly, I shifted my career into something I loved doing most, a career that requires knowledge and skills I’ve only acquired out from being curious about it. I’m talking about “the internet” and every “online opportunity” that I’ve never ever seen before year 2008.

Building a Company

Right after I quit my job, it’s no secret that I got married. But getting married was not the only thing I’ve been prepping before I handed over my resignation letter to my boss. Along the way, I co-founded an Inbound Marketing company that we officially launched last May 7th. The company is called TekWorx Mobile and Web Services, and obviously it’s very young but we’re very much optimistic on its growth. While we seek the help of Cebu Business Incubator for IT (CeBuinIT), we continue working for several projects and clients already. And yeah, that’s pretty exciting yet challenging but that doesn’t mean anything about leaving CTB after all. (more…)
