A loyal reader got my attention regarding my previous domain (cite-technologian.com) which expired already last August 27th.
He noticed that my old posts starting with the expired domain are being redirected to GoDaddy website, informing visitors that the site is parked free and is pending for renewal or deletion. But since I’m not interested with the domain anymore, I just left it to GoDaddy.
There’s a coincidence though, that the time my previous domain expires – my new domain (cebutechblogger.com) is also inaccessible. It happens when a user type the URL without “www”. It returns an error which says: “502 Bad Gateway Error”. I already setup everything right on Blogger’s publishing settings as well as with my domain registrar. I’ve learned that the issue usually happens to several Blogger blogs temporarily; probably because there’s an on-going maintenance on Blogger servers. It seems that it’s true since just after few hours, users are already being redirected to www.cebutechblogger.com when they type the URL without “www”.

However, the 502 Bad Gateway Error on Blogger is back again. As of this writing, my blog is inaccessible when users type the URL without “www”. The same thing happened to my other blogs using Blogger platform. I really doubt if there’s really server maintenance, or thinking for the worst – there’s really a big problem on my publishing settings or at my domain registrar. Whatever it is, that’s what I still need to figure out. I will just let you know why exactly I’m getting this error.
How about you, have you already encountered this problem? How did you fix it?
Update: August 31, 2010
It seems like this 502 Bad Gateway Error on Blogger is just temporary. My domain without “www” is now accessible, that means the redirection setting is working.
