First showcased at the IFA electronics trade show in Berlin, Germany last month, the Acer Aspire S3 boasts a sleek design and thin profile, powered by Intel’s 2nd generation Core i-Series processors based on UM67 Express Chipset, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and among other essential parts for faster computing which include a combination of both HDD and SSD for storage.
The Acer Aspire S3, which is also codenamed as Hummingbird, comes with new features which the Taiwan-based PC maker dubbed as Acer Green Instant On, allowing the ultrabook to resume in a mere 1.5 seconds from “sleep mode” and 6 seconds from “Deep Sleep” mode; and there’s also the Acer Instant Connect, providing instant access to the internet, that is in just 2.5 seconds!
The Acer Aspire S3 will retail here in the Philippines with a SRP of Php 44,900 for the basic configuration which include 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-2467M processor, 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM, and 320GB HDD with embedded 20GB SSD, and it could be pre-installed with Windows 7 OS. Not bad really considering I got another Acer machine last year, the Acer Aspire 4745G, at Php 39K sans the OS.
