Packing the world’s fastest octa-core chipset, the Alcatel One Touch Idol Plus (stylized as Idol+) is one smartphone powerhouse worth checking out. Announced today at the CES 2014 event in Las Vegas, the France based mobile company is all smiles for the One Touch Idol+.
Featuring the amazing 2GHz octa core MediaTek MT6592 processor, the phone comes in with 2 GB of RAM, a 5 inch ( 1080 x 1920 pixels ) 1080p IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen equivalent to 441 ppi, 16 GB of built-in storage expandable to up to 32 GB via a microSD card, 13.1 megapixel autofocus back shooter with LED flash, 2.1 megapixel front shooter, high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) sound system, a “0” bezel and borderless, 2.4mm edge-to-edge design and a non-removable 2500 mAh Li-ion battery all housed in a thin profile of just 7.9mm.
Initial shipments of the phone is expected to come in with Android JellyBean 4.2 out-of-the-box, while later shipments will include the 4.4 version of Android OS. Although there’s no official word on the pricing and availability of the One Touch Idol+, rumor has it that it will hit the European shelves sometime in February and Q3 of 2014 elsewhere with a $329 price tag.
