Skip to content to Cease Operations following OLX Merger

In a rather surprising news, OLX Philippines is bound to dominate the Online Classified Ads network in the country come 2015, once the merger between four companies namely Naspers, Schibsted Media Group, Telenor Group, and Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) gets the green flag from the European Commission, putting end in their rivalry. With this merger, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Bangladesh will be affected.


In the country, is owned by Singapore Press Holdings, while is owned by Naspers.

What this means for the Philippines is that once the merger is a done deal, will cease operations while transferring all their site traffic, apps, and users to, giving the latter a complete dominance in the Philippine Online Classified Ads network, as the only remaining competitors will mainly be Tipid PC and eBay Philippines.

But until the merger is complete, it’ll stay business as usual for both and
