It has been years that I am using my best anti-virus combination to protect my PC.
Such combination include a Free Avast! Home Edition and PC Tools products. But after learning the latest security update from the Facebook blog, there’s something I need to consider- shifting my Anti-virus software from Avast! Home Edition to McAfee!
Yes, it’s true. Facebook users are going to enjoy a 6-month complimentary subscription to McAfee Internet Security. Jake Brill of Facebook said in a blog post:
One of the best defenses against security threats is a good offense, and we want to help you take the offensive by having the latest security software installed on your computer. Today, we are announcing a year-long partnership with McAfee to offer all 350 million people who use Facebook the ability to download a six-month subscription to McAfee security software at no cost, along with a special discount once the six months are over.
We’re committed to doing everything we can to help you protect your account and make your experience on Facebook as safe and enjoyable as possible. We invest in dedicated teams and advanced technical systems that detect and block suspicious behavior. When we find a message with a link to a fake login page or other malicious website, we prevent it from being sent and delete all instances of it from the site. We also work with third parties to get malicious sites added to browser blacklists or removed completely.
This is really interesting for me as a Facebook user. Just recently, I made a review of ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall and now I have the chance of trying McAfee Internet Security. So, how are you going to take the advantage of this offer? Well, if you are a Facebook user- simply visit the Protect Your PC tab on the McAfee Fan Page on Facebook.
I am going to review this McAfee Internet Security for Facebook users, so be sure to subscribe to either by E-mail or by RSS Feeds to get the latest updates.
