When ApplenBerry announced 2 weeks ago that it has been working on a new baseband unlock solution for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, the company confirmed that modem firmware version 4.11.08 is only supported. No official word released if they are also working on iPhone 4S basebands 1.0.14 and 1.0.13, not until today when we learned about it straight from its Facebook page.
While reminding jailbreakers/unlockers to save SHSH blobs of their handsets, ApplenBerry revealed that it has also been working on iPhone 4S baseband that comes with iOS 5.0.1, specifically 1.0.13.
We are working on iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 and iPhone 4S baseband 1.0.13. If you haven’t done so already, you should save it before the next modem firmware update. It is too early to tell if one GEVEY chip can be compilable with both iPhone 4 and 4S.
Though this sounds good news for everyone stuck on 1.0.13; unfortunately, the company still can’t provide ETA of the said unlock solution.
But anyway, we’ll just give you more updates as soon as ApplenBerry announces progress of its new Gevey-SIM – so just stay tuned here on CTB! And oh, Apple’s next iPhone firmware update is just around the corner, so don’t forget to hold off from upgrading once such new iOS version becomes available. [via]
