Google Chrome Frame for IE- Rejected by Microsoft?

Last Tuesday, Google released a plugin for Internet Explorer called the Google Chrome Frame.
It’s an open source plug-in that brings HTML5 and other open web technologies to Internet Explorer. Google Chrome Frame is an early-stage open source plug-in that seamlessly brings Google Chrome’s open web technologies and speedy V8 JavaScript engine to Internet Explorer. Though, this is a good news for Internet Explorer users as Google Chrome Frame is seamlessly the first realistic solution that addresses the problem of Internet Explorer 6.0 and other versions of IE, it’s different from Microsoft’s official statement.

Just got this excerpt of Microsoft’s official reaction from ZDNet.com:

“With Internet Explorer 8, we made significant advancements and updates to make the browser safer for our customers. Given the security issues with plug-ins in general and Google Chrome in particular, Google Chrome Frame running as a plug-in has doubled the attach area for malware and malicious scripts. This is not a risk we would recommend our friends and families take. For a deeper look at how the browsers stack up in security, take a look at the latest phishing and malware data from NSS Labs.”
