HP webOS-based Tablet could be named PALMPAD, not Hurricane

So HP might not be calling its webOS-based slate as Hurricane. The tablet device which is set to be released some time in 2011 will be named as PalmPad.

HP PalmPad Tablet

This prediction came out after HP EVP Todd Bradley accidentally slipped his tongue on its most recent Analyst Meeting.

We’ve already announced the expansion of our future product portfolio well beyond smartphones. We’ll have a webOS-powered PalmPad that will be set for release early in 2011.

There you got it. Though we are not certain that PalmPad is HP’s webOS-based tablet, but its recent patent filing last July suggests the name is indeed a PalmPad. Whatever it is, it’s something that really has to compete with the iPad, Galaxy Tab, or the PlayBook. What do you think? [via Pre-Central]
