HTC aimed to beat Samsung last year in the smartphone market share with the HTC One, but didn’t push through because of manufacturing issues, causing a delayed release for the current flagship. But things are getting hopeful for the Taiwan-based smartphone maker, as they are set to release the successor to HTC One, codenamed HTC M8. More details, after the break!
In a tweet sent by our favorite leaker, @evleaks, the HTC One successor rumored to sport the name HTC One+ or HTC Two will be released sometime by late March in New York City, USA. It is also rumored to come with a same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels found on the HTC One and a bigger 4.9 to 5 inch screen. There’s also a report that says it will come with a dual sim variant.
There’s also a high chance that the HTC M8 (or HTC One+) will feature a fingerprint scanner — the hottest trend these days as set by Apple’s iPhone 5s — since the HTC One Max also has one.
HTC M8 rumored specs:
- Android KitKat 4.4 with HTC Sense 6.0
- 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU
- 4.9 to 5 inch ( 1920 x 1080 pixels ) 1080p display
- 2 or 3 GB of RAM
- 32/64 GB of ROM
- 6 to 8 ultrapixel main camera
- WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G/HSDPA/LTE
- dual sim support
- Beats Audio Enhancement
- Fingerprint Reader
There’s no word yet on pricing, but we’ll post an update as soon as we get more details on the upcoming HTC One successor, so stay tuned! [via]
