However, the Ultrasn0w version scheduled for release will only be for iPhone 3G and 3GS users running iOS 4.1 or 4.2. The expected release of Ultrasn0w to work on baseband 05.14.02 was confirmed when @MuscleNerd hinted us again via tweet, which I guess had already been deleted.
simplysaru: @MuscleNerd thanks.. how long would the wait be for 4.2 any approximate time
MuscleNerd: @simplysaru if you’re on 3G or 3GS, just a day or 2 at most after 4.2 is public (just enough time to verify stuff)
iPhone 4 users who got iOS 4.1 pre-installed have baseband 02.10.04, thus the said Ultrasn0w unlock won’t work. Surely the Dev Team is working on the unlock for BB 02.10.04, but as of the moment – there’s no ETA. Please note that @MuscleNerd is a reliable source, yet we still have to confirm the official announcement from the Dev Team. So just stay tuned!
Update: No unlock yet for baseband 5.14.02 until the release of iOS 4.2.1 which brings baseband 5.15.04. iPhone 3G and 3GS users who are either on baseband 5.14.02 or 5.15.04 and need an unlock should upgrade the baseband to 6.15.00. Check out: Unlock Baseband 5.14.02 and 5.15.04 on iPhone 3G or 3GS Running iOS 4.2.1
