With the finalization of the Nokia acquisition by Microsoft fast approaching, a sad news for loyal Nokia fans broke over the internet, as a leaked letter addressed to the Finnish mobile manufacturer’s customers and suppliers surfaced, suggesting a name change for the mobile brand we all know, love and trust.
The leaked letter revealed that once the deal gets closed later this month, Microsoft will be renaming Nokia’s handset division as Microsoft Mobile Oy. In Finland, Oy is pretty much the same as Ltd.
The division will still be based in Finland, but the soon to be wholly-owned Microsoft subsidiary will move to a new headquarters in 7 Keilaranta in Espoo.
Microsoft has no plans on changing the current terms and conditions between Nokia and its suppliers, including those involved with NSN, HERE and Advanced Technology units.
