Nokia X Officially Available in the Philippines! Comes in Black, White, Red and Green for just Php 5,990

Nokia was probably successful in making sure people would talk about them when they officially announced the Nokia X family of Android running phones at the recently concluded 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Just two weeks after the unveiling, one of the three phones announced is now officially available in the Philippines, and we have all the details you need to know. More after the break.

Nokia X

Shortly after an exclusive press launch, our friends at Nokia Philippines took to facebook the announcement of the availability of the Nokia X for their Filipino netizen fans. It is a big news for Nokia loyal fans, as it is the first Android device from the then top mobile phone maker.

But, the Nokia X does come with a catch, so don’t expect the device to be anything like your usual Android device. The now Microsoft-owned Finnish company decided to remove Google Play support and other Google services from the Nokia X. Instead, the device comes with Nokia’s own App store that still supports what is said to be about 70 percent of Android apps, as well as Nokia’s and Microsoft’s own services.

Nokia X Apps

The Nokia X’s user interface has been tweaked to resemble that of a Nokia Lumia device running on a Windows Phone OS. Now this is actually a nice move for Nokia and Microsoft I should say, as it does promote the company’s higher end models.

Available from select Nokia stores, the Nokia X is priced at just Php 5,990. The device features a 4 inch screen, a 3 megapixel camera powered by a dual core processor, and comes in four color options: Black, White, Red and Green. For those who wants the other two colors, Yellow and Blue, sadly it’s not available–at least not here in the Philippines.

Nokia X front

Undoubtedly, the Nokia X will be a sure hit in country thanks to the competitive pricing. Plus, it is a Nokia, after all. Did we also mention that the Nokia X comes with a dual SIM support?
