|Google+ for iPhone UI|
Though it has been reported that the search giant has already prepped and submitted an iPhone app for Apple’s approval, it took them more or less 3 weeks to make the official Google+ iPhone app available in iTunes.
Yes, those of you guys who already have a Google+ account will get to enjoy yet another mobile experience with the new social network through your iPhone. Official Google+ App for iPhone is now available for download and is compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0 or later.
Features which come with this release of Google+ for iPhone include:
- Circles let you share the right things with just the right people.
- Stream is where you can get updates from your circles or see what people are saying about things nearby.
- Huddle is super-fast group messaging for everyone in your circles.
The initial release doesn’t support iPad tablets just yet, so I guess that’s a major drawback. It’s not compatible with iPod Touch either. Hmmm… It may sounds disappointing to some users, right? But if it’s not a big deal for you, iPad and iPod Touch users, perhaps a Web app is just fine. Just access google.com/+ in your device’s web browser. iPhone users can get Google+ native app via this link.
Update 1: Google+ for iPhone App is not yet available in Philippine iTunes store. I tried to download the app, but I was prompted with this notice:
For the time being, you’ll need to have iTunes account registered to purchase items in US store so you can also download Google+ App for iPhone.
Update 2: Download Google Plus (Google+) for iPhone in Philippines or other Non-US Countries
Update 3: Google+ for iPhone available now in Philippines, officially.
