RIM Philippines Treats BlackBerry Bold 9900 Users with OS 7.1 Update

Weeks after RIM pushed the latest OS update to several BlackBerry devices in the West, the Canadian phone maker now brought it here in the Philippines. But no, not all that latest BlackBerry phones will receive the update but rather just its most high-end smartphone to date – the BlackBerry Bold 9900.

BlackBerry OS 7.1 is not really that high-key upgrade but it does bring new stuff to the table. The latest firmware now incorporates BlackBerry Tag, a new feature that leverages NFC technology built to the Bold 9900, allowing users to share information and contents easier. Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot is a key feature of any smartphone today and the good thing is — the BlackBerry Bold 9900 already has it as well.

If you’re currently rocking that BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone, go grab your USB cable in the box, hook it up to your PC, and fire up your BlackBerry Desktop Software. Or better yet, go check out BlackBerry update page for additional info. As usual, do let us know here how it goes.
