The promo has been confirmed to last until February 28th, 2011. Prepaid subscribers don’t need to undergo a registration process in order to avail of the promo. As soon as the subscriber avail of the regular rate of Php 10 per 30 minutes mobile internet, and the system detects a remaining airtime balance of less than Php 11 and greater than or equal to Php 3 on the prepaid SIM – users will be redirected to a web page prompting them to whether “PROCEED” with the browsing rate of 1-Peso per minute or not.
This move is of advantage for those users who only need to check updates on their favorite social networking sites, for checking emails, or for any online activities that only takes a minute or two. The logic on this promo is that for every moment you connect and disconnect the internet in a span of 1 minute, you’ll only be charged for 1-Peso. In the regular rate, even if you didn’t go online for 30 minutes (say for example just 10 minutes) – you’ll still be charged with the Php 10 flat rate. But this Php 1 per minute charging is quite confusing, ‘coz if you do the Math – you’ll come up with a total fee of Php 60 for all combined per minute usage summing up to 1 hour. Got it?
