NBI Raids Cybersex Call Center Alleged Selling Porn Sites

In response to Malacañang’s vow to end trafficking involving children and minors for online sex abuse in the country, the National Bureau of Investigation conducted a raid in Sta. Mesa tuesday night followed by another raid in Quezon City the day after.

In a report by GMA News, NBI arrested 20 people in a raid conducted last Tuesday evening at an establishment in Sta. Mesa. These people arrested are said to be involved in recruiting “call center” agents, mostly minors ages 15 years old and below. Recruited minors are offered Php 5,000 to up to Php 30,000 a week to act as models to chat with foreigners from the US, Astralia, UK and other countries using pre-recorded porn videos of Filipinas. NBI Released Full CCTV Footage of Vhong Navarro’s Mauling Incident; Watch Online Here!

This afternoon, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) presented to the media the full CCTV footage of Deniece Cornejo’s condominium building in Taguig, Forbeswood Heights, recorded last January 22 in lieu of the alleged rape incident involving actor-host Vhong Navarro.

After reviewing the said CCTV footage, NBI is now dismissing the possibility of Vhong Navarro attempting to rape Deniece Cornejo last January 22, as the latter claimed, for grounds that the series of incidents captured by the building’s CCTV camera does not match Deniece Cornejo’s claims. (more…)

The New NBI eClearance Application System: A Solution or Just a Hype?

The Department of Justice outed a press release the other day about the NBI Clearance Online Registration System being available starting yesterday, January 24, which we wrote about here. With the new eClearance Application System, DOJ and NBI hopes to solve the problems (and complaints as well) plaguing the NBI Clearance application because of long and unorganized waiting queues leaving a lot of people dismayed and annoyed of the system.

With the old system, NBI Clearance applicants have to head to NBI offices nationwide or to the nearest NBI Clearance application points such as select Robinson’s Malls and the like. This is where applicants would complete all the steps involved — registration, payment of fees, biometrics and release of the clearance.  But with the new system, applicants would just need to fire up their web browsers and fill the application form online through the NBI application page, print the QR code, and head to an NBI office or application points for biometrics and to claim their clearance.
