Nokia X Normandy, Nokia’s Android Phone, May Launch this Month

The acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft might be a done deal already, but, the Finnish company is set to release their first ever Android powered device, the Nokia X a.k.a. Normandy this month, during the 2014 Mobile World Congress happening in Barcelona, Spain.

But, the phone is of course carrying all terms according to Microsoft, as the Nokia X is said to ship without Google Play support (just like the whole Kindle line by Amazon), but instead Nokia’s very own app store. This means there will be no Google apps for the Android-powered Nokia phone, instead, the Nokia X will feature apps that are crafted by Nokia and Microsoft such as Bing Search, Nokia Maps and Outlook.

Android Nokia X “Normandy” Specs Leaked! 4-Incher Phone, Dual Core Processors, 6 Colors

We have been hearing a lot about an Android-powered Nokia device for quite sometime now. Press images of the Nokia X or Normandy surfaced the internet, and now we have sizzling details on the specifications of the upcoming Nokia Android device. More after the break.

@evleaks took to Twitter yesterday the specs of the yet to be announced Nokia X. The leaked specs hinted us that Nokia’s first Android powered device will be aimed for the mid range market. Coming in with 6 color options in a polycarbonate shell, the device will feature a 4 inch WVGA screen running on a dual core Snapdragon 200 processor with 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB internal storage and expandable microSD slot.
