Lenovo Opens Concept Store in Cebu!

In pursuit of broadening its reach in the Philippine mobile market, Chinese multinational technology company recently opened their second Lenovo Mobile Exclusive Store (LMES) outside Metro Manila, and the sixth one since the company started opening concept stores exclusively for mobile phones and tablets.

Located at the 3rd level of Ayala Center in Cebu City, the sixth Lenovo Mobile Exclusive Store will be offering the Lenovo A series (A269i, A369i, A516 and A850) and the premium Lenovo Vibe X, as well as the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8, Yoga Tablet 10 and other Lenovo exclusive accessories to all the Cebuanos who wants features and build quality to go hand in hand, without sacrificing too much on the budget.

Apple App Store Sales Reaches a Milestone of $10 Billion in 2013

Apple has announced in a press release that the company has generated a record breaking amount of $10 billion from selling apps in the last year. In the last December alone 3 billion apps were downloaded and the company sold over $1 billion of apps. Thus the month of December has become the most successful month in the App Store history. The net earnings of the app developers from the App Store have now reached over $15 billion.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services expressed his gratitude to their customers and app developers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store. Moreover he said, “The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014.” (more…)

D-Link’s first Cloud Router to leverage on the latest wireless networking standard, 802.11ac, is now available in the Philippines.

The Cloud Router 5700 (DIR-865L) is a dual-band wireless router (802.11n / 802.11ac), promised to offer a combined theoretical Wi-Fi speed of 1750Mbps – that’s 450Mbps on 2.4GHz frequency band, plus 1300Mbps on 5GHz band. What exactly this means is that, the dual-band feature allows the router to run a 450Mbps Wireless-N (802.11n) network over the 2.4GHz frequency band and 1300Mbps Wireless-AC (802.11ac) network over the 5GHz frequency band, and this happens simultaneously.

The DIR-865L is one of the few wireless routers out in the market today designed to work on 802.11ac. It uses Broadcom’s 5G Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11ac chipset and undoubtedly gets head to head with the likes of Asus RT-AC66U, Belkin AC 1200 DB, Buffalo WZR-1800H, and Netgear R6300.
