Last year, Sony released the Xperia Z Tablet with top notch specs plus a sleek, thin body. This week at the 2o14 Mobile World Congress, the Japanese tech giant decided to announce the successor to the Xperia Z Tablet, dubbed as the Xperia Z2 Tablet together with the new flagship phone, the Xperia Z2.
Last year’s Xperia Z Tablet may not have been as successful as Apple’s iPad Air, but the former is impressively thin at 6.9mm compared to the latter’s 7.5mm thickness. But for Sony, this may not be thin enough, as the new Xperia Z2 Tablet comes with a very thin 6.4mm-thick body. It’s also 69 grams lighter (WiFi variant) than its predecessor. Despite the thinness, the device would still feel very solid to hold–we know this for a fact with the Xperia Z Tablet.
