Twitter just announced that an additional 13 countries and 6 more cities have been added to the Local Trends. With Trends, users can keep track on the latest news or what is being talked on Twitter, as it appears on the Trends category on Twitter.com dashboard in real-time.

Among these countries include: Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, and Venezuela. For the cities, that include: Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis, Rio De Janeiro, Sydney, and Toronto.

Another highlight from the announcement is the use of Google Translate. From the blog post,

We are now using Google Translate to display Tweet translations in the details pane to give people more access to what people are talking about around the world. This feature is currently available to a very small percentage of users and will be rolling out to everyone over the coming weeks.

Sorry folks, still no Philippines on Trends. Or even just Manila or Cebu, perhaps? That is all for now about Twitter. Stay tuned!
