When I logged on to my Facebook account this morning, I was surprised when two of my friends posted something on my wall – an image of a sexy girl bending down with her skirt almost off.
The image title is “This is Without Doubt the Sexiest Video Ever!” It looks like a video with a length as stated to be 3:17 minutes. However, just like any other illegitimate Facebook app- I realized it was just another spam.
Winamp App on FB |
The name of the application is “Winamp”. This is actually just another virus that is going wild in Facebook. It will ask users to grant access to their account. Once access is granted, the application will gain access to the user information and will post the video to his/her wall and attempt to spread itself more within those users’ social networks. It automatically sends inappropriate content to the users’ friends list without permission.
If you have already fallen into this mess, just simply go into your application settings and remove the Winamp application. Note that this is misleading to the fan page of the popular media player, WinAmp, which has a bold “A”.
This is not the first time I received similar illegitimate app in Facebook. Earlier this month I encountered Jet Audio, and on the previous month- the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton Scandal and Focebook Antivirus. I know this is never going to be the last, so just beware and avoid clicking suspicious links on FB.
If you find something suspicious happening in your computer, just leave a comment below. No report yet about this virus how it exactly destroy or infect your system. So far, it was just reported to spam FB friends for those who clicked the link.
