Oh, yes. You read it right. A team of Indian researchers have developed what is believed to be the world cheapest laptop, costing around $35 only.

Unveiled by Indian HRD Minister, Kapil Sibal, the new device is designed particularly for students.

The new device has no name yet and it can’t be compared to Apple’s popular tablet, the iPad, or even to China’s version, iPed. They categorized this gadget as a “laptop” so it can’t also be compared to Cisco’s Android tablet, Cius.

The device is said to run Linux OS, has a touch screen display, built-in keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB ports, 2GB RAM memory, and alternate solar battery support.

There’s no specific date when it will be out in the market, but it’s expected to come out by 2011. One more thing, the price is expected to come down to $20 when it finally hit the market. Watch the news below…
